As avid supporters of Crawley Open House, the team at Elliot Scott Group wanted to continue to raise awareness and funds for the charity which supports many homeless and disadvantaged people in Crawley.
Directors Elliot Benton and Scott Burns donned their sleeping bags and slept rough for the evening in Crawley Town Centre as they took part in the Crawley Open House Big Sleep Out. And raised a whopping £2,063 for the charity in the process.
Director Elliot Benton commented, ‘It was an extremely humbling experience, there was not a single word of complaint throughout the entire evening because we all knew this is everyday life for many thousands of people across the UK. With dramatic cost of living increases happening right now and as we continue to recover from the last 2 years, this number is due to significantly increase’.
Crawley Open House are tackling the homeless issues the town faces by offering accommodation, food and support to those experiencing homelessness locally. The Big Sleep Out was a way of raising vital funds for Crawley Open House’s amazing operation and Elliot Scott Group were delighted to contribute £2,000 of the £12,000 raised.
Whilst we understand the evening will not put a stop to homelessness within Crawley, we would like to place on gratitude our thanks to all those who supported this vital cause.
